Again this year, within its corporate social responsibility program, NIS j.s.c. Novi Sad continues to implement its NIS Chance Program with the aim to employ young talented candidates holding vocational high school degrees and university degrees. On Monday, 13 January 2014, 78 young people entered into employment contracts with NIS j.s.c. Novi Sad in NIS Business Centre in Novi Sad. Fifty-four (54) candidates holding university degrees among which the most numerous ones were those holding the degrees of the Faculty of Mining and Geology, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Technology and Technology and Metallurgy Faculty and the Faculty of Organizational Sciences were given the chance to become members of NIS teams for the period of one year. Among 24 candidates holding high vocational school degrees, the most numerous ones were those holding mechanical and electrical technician degrees. All newly employed interns were selected carefully by the analysis of the studies results, the results of the organized testing as well as after interviews with managers and future mentors, in accordance with the Company's needs. Continuing its practice in recent years and by implementing the NIS Chance Program, the Company continues to cooperate with local authorities, National Employment Service, faculties and high schools and in that way select candidates who will work in Novi Sad, Belgrade, Pančevo, Zrenjanin, Kikinda and other towns where NIS business capacities are located. Additional information: Youth employment programs have become NIS traditional and good practice programs implemented in the last five years. The program was launched in 2010 by cooperation within the program of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, First Chance Program. Two years later, it grew into the program which is implemented under NIS auspices and in cooperation with the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina and local governmental authorities. Thanks to the NIS Chance Program, more than 670 young people have become members of NIS professional teams.
