Role of NIS in EU integration of Serbia

NIS opened its representative office in Brussels back in 2011 and thus stressed the importance of the European integration process of Serbia for the company. Nikola Radovanovic from the Office for Cooperation with the EU Institutions at NIS presented the practice of the company with regard to the involvement of NIS in the accession negotiations with the European Union, and then the methodology of analysis and monitoring of the individual negotiation chapters. He also emphasized that the initiative of a wider range of economic representatives would be needed for the greater engagement in the accession process. Dušanka Samardžić, an adviser to the President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, pointed to the good example of NIS in monitoring the EU accession process and harmonization of company operations with the legal framework of the EU. She also added that the role of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in this process was immense. Serbian managers, representatives of NIS and representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce at the meeting exchanged views on the importance of the involvement of companies in the accession negotiations Jelena Bulatović, Executive Director of the SAM said that the institutions of the European Union were committed to the European Integrations of the Republic of Serbia and indicated their willingness to cooperate with the commercial and business associations in Serbia.
