Fedorov stated that the net profit of NIS Group in the first nine months of 2016 was RSD 7.7 billion and that profitability was maintained despite adverse market conditions, low prices of crude oil, in the first place. Director of Finance, Economics, Planning and Accounting said that, notwithstanding the difficult market conditions, NIS managed to deliver a remarkable performance in all business segments, and maintain the same dividend policy, i.e. pay 25 per cent of net profit from the previous year to shareholders. At the same time, Fedorov noted, NIS continued putting money into development projects, investing RSD 14.5 billion in that way in the first nine months of this year. Fedorov added that NIS is also going to make substantial investments in the coming years, the most important ones including the projects of the Combined Heat and Power Plant Pančevo and Bottom-of-the-Barrel processing at Pančevo Oil Refinery. Fedorov's presentation was followed by an open discussion in which the participants enquired about the current activities and future projects of NIS Group, which is how NIS reaffirmed its commitment to transparency in doing business and good relationship with investors. The Day of Investors in Zrenjanin provided an opportunity to showcase the projects of the Scientific and Technological Centre (NTC), a subsidiary of NIS established to give scientific and technological support to core business and ensure constant innovations in business operations. Violeta Jorović, Director of the Geophysics Sector, said that NTC is currently working on 19 projects, 4 of which involve scientific research, featuring the Project of Making the Regional Geological Model and Evaluating the Prospects of the Oil and Gas Potential of the Pannonian Basin, which is supposed to reduce the risk of geological research and single out exploration and production prospects. Representatives of the investment community visited NIS' Natural Gas Amine Treatment Unit in Elemir After the presentations given in Zrenjanin, representatives of the investment community visited the Natural Gas Amine Treatment Unit, in the construction of which NIS invested more than EUR 30 million. This modern unit separates carbon dioxide and other gas admixtures, thus improving the quality of the domestic natural gas provided to customers, while at the same time increasing the output of gas. In addition, this project has a beneficial effect on the environmental protection since the technology used at the Amine Unit entirely prevents carbon dioxide from reaching the atmosphere. NIS' guests also visited the logistical complex of the Elemir storage facility, which is the central storage facility of Exploration and Production. This modern storage facility takes up an area of approximately 66,000 square metres. Additional investment in extending and revamping the facility is planned for next year.
