NIS received a certificate of appreciation from the Fund for gifted students of the University of Novi Sad

The NIS Company was presented with a certificate of appreciation from the Fund for Scholarships and Encouraging the Advancement of Gifted Students and Young Scientific Workers and Artists of the University of Novi Sad for long-term support and student scholarships. Snežana Lakićević, advisor to the deputy CEO, received the Certificate of appreciation on behalf of NIS at a ceremony held at the Chambers of the Chancellor of the University of Novi Sad.

As part of the ceremony, contracts were concluded with 86 new scholarship recipients of the Fund for Gifted Students and certificates of appreciation were awarded to institutions outside the University that supported the work of the Fund in the 2023/2024 school year.

On this occasion, Snežana Lakićević emphasized that money, but also various other internship and training programs, are a way to encourage young people to realize that they can progress and have a place to stay in Serbia, and that through work in our companies they can achieve their ambitions, while contributing to the overall progress of our country.

Every year, the NIS Company awards five scholarships to students of the University of Novi Sad, with which it cooperates through its “Energy of Knowledge” program. NIS has been a scholarship donor for 15 years. This year the scholarship was awarded to: Aleksa Savić, student of the third year of principal academic studies at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, majoring in Information Systems Engineering, Barbara Stajić, first-year student of the Master’s academic studies at the Faculty of Technology, majoring in Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering, Ksenija Kisić, first-year student of the Master’s academic studies study at the Faculty of Philosophy, majoring in Russian language and literature, Miroslav Knežević, student of the fourth year of principal academic studies at the Technical Faculty “Mihajlo Pupin”, majoring in Industrial Engineering in Oil and Gas Exploitation and Olivera Špirić, student of the third year of principal academic studies at the Faculty of Technology, majoring in Petroleum petrochemical engineering.

The ceremony was also attended by the mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Đurić, Chancellor of the University of Novi Sad, prof. Dejan Madić, Ph.D., President of the Council of the Scholarship Fund, prof. Dr. Boris Popović, Provincial Secretary for Higher Education and Scientific Research Branko Markoski, as well as representatives of the companies DDOR Novi Sad and JKP “Informatika” who, like the City of Novi Sad and NIS, also received a certificate of appreciation.

The scholarship fund for gifted students was established in 1992, and so far 1780 scholarships have been awarded to the best students of the University of Novi Sad.
