Awards
The NIS company was awarded a plaque for long-term cooperation and support to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Belgrade, at the ceremonial session of the Council of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, which was held in order to celebrate the Day of this educational institution. Jovana Savković, an Expert for Cooperation with Universities, received the plaque on behalf of NIS. The plaque is awarded to the companies and persons who have contributed to the development and promotion of the faculty, as well as for the benevolence for the favour of the faculty.
The NIS company and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade have a long-term cooperation through joint projects that include connecting the scientific, educational and professional work of this educational institution with the business activities of NIS, developing case studies for the needs of the company’s business processes, organizing guest lectures, exchanging knowledge and experience, as well as involving students in the NIS programmes intended for young people, according to the possibilities and needs of both the company and the faculty. Also, this year, the NIS company donated a chromatograph for the laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The procurement of this device significantly improved the practical classes, as well as the practical knowledge and skills of the students of this educational institution.
The special recognition is a confirmation of NIS’ long-term dedicated work and investment in scientific and educational institutions through the “Energy of Knowledge” programme, within which the company cooperates with educational and scientific institutions in the country and abroad. Due to its contribution to the improvement of conditions in educational institutions across the country, NIS is recognized as a company that continuously contributes to the improvement of the educational system in Serbia, as evidenced by the fact that NIS is the first domestic company to be the proud holder of the prestigious “St. Sava Award” for its contribution to education in Serbia, awarded by the Ministry of Education.
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Belgrade is the oldest and the biggest higher education and scientific institution in Serbia in the field of mechanical engineering. This is an institution of national significance, which is the basis for the development of mechanical engineering and industry in Serbia. Last year, the 150th anniversary of higher education in the field of mechanical engineering and the 75th anniversary of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Belgrade were celebrated. In the past years, this educational institution successfully adapted to the challenges of the modern time, and thus, with a long tradition and highly-qualified scientific staff, it ranks among the best schools of mechanical engineering in the wider region.
