NIS pleads with US Finance Ministry to strike it off SDN List

19.03.2025.

The NIS Company has filed a request with the US Treasury Department to remove NIS from the SDN list (Specially Designated Nationals).

As the process of removal from the list is lengthy, while awaiting a response, NIS has filed a new request with the US Treasury Department to extend the initially issued special license, which was issued on February 26 with a validity period until March 28 of the current year. The aim of this request is to postpone the full application of sanctions against NIS beyond the deadline stipulated in the license, i.e. March 28. All of the above activities should enable the smooth operation of NIS until the moment of removal from the SDN list.

The company’s priorities at this time remain the orderly supply of the domestic market with all types of petroleum products, maintaining regular operations and taking care of employees, and the public will be informed in a timely manner about any new circumstances that may affect the company’s operations.
