Children supported by SOS Children’s Village Kraljevo had the opportunity to spend quality time with the basketball players of Partizan Basketball Club, within the project implemented by NIS entitled “We are All One Team”. On that occasion, the children from the SOS Children’s Village Kraljevo were given the opportunity to get acquainted with the famous basketball players of one of our and Europe’s best clubs, as well as to cheer for the “Black&White” team from the Partizan box in the final of the ABA League, which was held last night in the Belgrade Arena.

Basketball players welcomed them to the capital, and the day in Belgrade was enriched with a tour of various sites such as the Museum of Illusions Belgrade, Kalemegdan, and Zoo. In anticipation of the match, the children attended the final training of the “Black&White” team and thus got a unique opportunity to meet their sports role models who signed their T-shirts and gifted them autographs them as a souvenir.

Aleksa Avramović, a player of Partizan Basketball Club, said after their time together: “It’s great that the little ones came to visit us before the finals, it feels nice to see a smile on their faces because we noticed that it meant a lot to them and it meant a lot to us. We will always respond to such invitations, and we invite them to be with us.”

Irena Kostadinović, the coordinator of the “Family Strengthening” programme, emphasized the importance of yesterday for the children with whom she cooperates: “We are guests of NIS and Partizan Basketball Club. We came with children supported by SOS Children’s Village through a programme of strengthening families. In addition to the excursion, which was fantastically organized, we visited the Arena and attended the training of Partizan Basketball Club and spent time with the basketball players and the coach. This is a great activity that means a lot to children. In addition to supporting them in psycho-social and educational way, these are things that open up some new experiences for them.”

Before the game, the children shared their best impressions from the trip with us: “We had the opportunity to talk to the players and they are very friendly.”
