The U.S. Department of the Treasury has extended the duration of the special license, thereby postponing the full implementation of sanctions against NIS until April 28, 2025. This license allows the company to continue its business without interruption until April 28, 2025 or until the sanctions are lifted, whichever occurs first.
NIS thanks the Government of the Republic of Serbia and all other domestic and foreign institutions that supported the request sent to the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The company recalls that in March it also submitted a request for the removal of NIS from the SDN list (Specially Designated Nationals). NIS hereby emphasizes it respects the laws of the Republic of Serbia and other countries in which it operates, and through its business operations has not contributed to the imposition of sanctions that jeopardize the company’s operations and the social stability of more than 13,000 employees.
This new license allows NIS to carry out the following activities without interruption:
In the upcoming period, NIS remains committed to maintaining stability in the domestic market, continuing the investment cycle, and preserving the social stability of its employees. Additionally, NIS is ready for consistent cooperation with the U.S. Department of the Treasury regarding the submitted request for the removal of the company from the SDN (Specially Designated Nationals) sanctions list. NIS shall inform the public in a timely manner about any new circumstances that may affect the company’s operations.
