Quality of Products

In order to maintain its role as a market leader, NIS places great emphasis on the quality control of all its products.

The fuels produced by our company are in full compliance with European standards. Quality control of all our products is being carried out in laboratories of Scientific and Technology Centre. These laboratories are accredited and they are located in Pančevo, Surčin and Niš.

Quality control is conducted at all key points in the supply chain, from the inspection of raw materials at the oil field, to final consumers at refuelling station locations.

The quality control takes place at 5 points:

  1. Quality control at the Refinery (inspection of crude oil, process flow, semi – finished products and final products, as well as product certification in dispatch tanks).
  2. In transport vehicles (ships, railways), during dispatch from the Refinery (including dispatch from warehouses).
  3. During the receipt of petroleum products in storage tanks, where additional inspections are carried out, both in transport vehicle tanks and from the receiving tank, all that in order to confirm all the characteristics of the petroleum product.
  4. Before the fuel reaches a filling station or a customer, occasional quality control is being performed in tank trucks, in order to ensure compliance with the required standards.
  5. Finally, at each filling station, we conduct the final check – analytical control that is performed daily (using IT tools) and laboratory control according to the Inspection Plan, to ensure that only top-quality fuel reaches our customers.

Through this complex process, we ensure the highest standard for every product we deliver to each customer – both in wholesale and through our retail network.

Aviation fuel JET A1 is controlled according to a special protocol, by inspecting all characteristics in accordance with the fuel quality standard – Defence Standard 91-091.

Quality control of bitumen (road and polymer – modified) is carried out according to an adopted protocol and the specification for Euro bitumen for roads, which is developed in accordance with the SRPS EN 12591 standard, and the specification for polymer – modified bitumen, which has been developed in accordance with the EN 14023 standard.

Raising the satisfaction of consumers to the highest possible level is one of NIS’s priorities. In order to analyse and monitor consumer satisfaction, various types of customer satisfaction surveys are being conducted within the company.
